We’re at the China National Grand Theater!
Riri’s friend and curator, Phoenix Yao (姚金鳳), gave me a tour of the entire backstage area. Thanks for the unbelievable treatment!

The largest theater facility in Asia. It was built at a cost of 3.2 billion yuan (50 billion yen) by Paul Andreu, the French architect who designed the Charles de Gaulle International Airport.

It was announced by Party General Secretary Jiang Zemin in 1998 and completed in December 2007 after more than 10 years of work on the prestige of the nation.

Four huge theaters are housed in this egg-shaped dome.
It has an opera theater with 2,416 seats, a music hall with 2,017 seats, and a concert hall with 1,040 seats.

Just standing on this stage was exciting enough to give even myself, a businessman, goosebumps. I’d love to produce something here… and that’s not an easy thing to say!
