I was invited to speak at a Nikkei online event!
Many events could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but some musicians like Southern All Stars and Eikichi Yazawa, who had almost no online experience before COVID-19, have succeeded in holding large-scale online performances, attracting more viewers than for physical performances and boosting their incomes.

Also, as idols had always valued the internet as a way to connect with their fans, the transition to digital was easy. However, if real live performances are not possible, skilled production and staging companies will crumble and we will lose real business know-how.

In the post-COVID-19 era, one excepts that live performances will be rehabilitated and there will be an increase in new income from online live performances. Government assistance will also be needed.

Entertainment is essential to human life. Lives without the joy of entertainment have no future. Music should be able to penetrate deeper into human hearts than any virus can and give us the vitality we need for life.
