Interview movies in which artists from various fields talk about their thoughts and feelings, such as what they felt and challenged at the Corona Disaster, their current state of mind, and the future of art and culture, are available on the official YouTube channel.
The new coronavirus has forced various restrictions on the art scene in Tokyo and around the world. The wave is still having a significant impact on various genres of art and culture, including traditional and contemporary art, dance, theater, film, and music. Why is art and artistic culture necessary now? How should we recover the traditions and conventions that have been built up so far, and how should they evolve?
Arts Council Tokyo planned and produced this interview movie in order to broadly raise this theme through the voices of the artists themselves, who are facing various conflicts and thoughts. The narrator is Murasaki Onoe, a member of the Onoe school of Japanese classical dance.
