Exhibition Outline “Yukio Sakishige and Yo Sakishige: Father and Daughter Exhibition” (Japanese only)
Tim Huang, a friend and board member of Speedy China, told me, “Go see Mr. Shakunaga’s art! I was told in the beginning of 2020 that I had to go to the next level.
Tim and other successful businessmen in China all admire Steve Jobs.
Ceramic artist Yukio Sakishige continued to create pieces for Jobs for 10 years until his death.
For them, an artist that Jobs loved = neshin! The reason for this is that they are the best.
Upon hearing this story, I immediately traveled to Toyama with Yoko Sakanoue to see her works, production site, and kiln. (See the blog below for a report on March 6, 2020)

No wonder Jobs loves it. The pieces by 釋永 were very sophisticatedly conceived and elegantly crafted! The jet-black bowls reminded me of space and twinkling stars, and the reddish plates of the earth. I was mesmerized as if I were being sucked in.
Holding a black platter with beautiful curves in his hand, 釋永さん says, “I would like to make a larger piece.
Ah, how I wish I could exhibit such a piece at Speedy Gallery in Los Angeles!
With this in mind, I left the gallery.
P.S.: I didn’t expect Yukio Saketsunaga to be there, and I’m very sorry I went dressed like this on my summer vacation!
