Produced a video for “Eternal Hometown of Japan through Folktales and Performing Arts,” commemorating the 110th anniversary of the publication of “2020 Tono Monogatari.
The Tono area, located in the inland region of Iwate Prefecture, is still dearly loved as the spiritual home of the Japanese people, with many folktales, folk tales, and songs passed down orally, including “Tono Monogatari” published by Kunio Yanagida in 1908, which provides information on folk beliefs and the worldview of people living at that time. The year will also mark the anniversary of the “Toyama City Festival” in Japan.
This video work introduces the spirit of Japan as passed down by the people of Tono. The video will be set in Tono Furusato Village, which recreates the original landscape of Tono, and Sugawara Shrine, and other locations to convey the charm of Tono Monogatari to the world.
