Jun Fukuda’s Jiji Roudan [talkd.jp] Guest: Comedian Gori-san, Film Director Toshiyuki Teruya
Comedian Gori has actually been making films as Teruya Toshiyuki for more than 10 years.
For this interview, we were moved by “Bone Washing,” which Gori directed and wrote the script for.
As Tetsuko Kuroyanagi said on “Tetsuko’s Room” the other day, this year marks the 50th anniversary of Okinawa’s reversion to mainland Japan, and Okinawa is once again the focus of attention, including NHK’s morning drama “Chimudo-don.
The “washed bones” depicted by Gori, a “returned child” born one week after the reversion to mainland Japan, is a first-class work based on Okinawa’s unique customs that appeals globally to the way families are and the way people live their lives.
Please read the dialogue.
