Broadcast from April 1, 2013 to September 28, 2013, this humanistic comedy set in Tohoku is written by Kankuro Kudo, the screenwriter of dramas such as “Kisarazu Cat’s Eye” and “Ikebukuro West Gate Park. The main character is Aki Amano, a high school student who has tended to be a recluse. When Aki visits her mother’s hometown of Kita Sanriku, her grandmother whom she met there, she begins to regain herself as she aspires to become an ama (diver).

The main character Aki was played by Non (then Reina Nohni), who was selected from among 1,953 applicants. At the time, she was a 19-year-old rookie. Aki Amano (Non), a high school student who tended to withdraw from the world when she was in Tokyo because she could not keep up with the fast pace of life there, is brought to Kita Sanriku for the first time by her mother Haruko (Kyoko Koizumi), who is returning home for the first time in 24 years. There she meets her grandmother, Natsu (Miyamoto Nobuko), and for the first time in her life, Aki is moved by her grandmother’s easygoing way of life and declares her intention to become a diver. She is nurtured by the rich nature and warm people of Kita Sanriku, and begins to shine like a different person. Aki eventually moves to Tokyo. She works as a valet for Hiromi Suzuka (Hiroko Yakushimaru), an actress she admires, and aspires to become an idol.
