Corona Thinking : How to use mindfulness as you like
I learned about Zen while I was in a hot spring with Mr. Naruse, who runs ON THE TRIP.

It was an area in which I had little interest, but when I heard that Silicon Valley executives were getting management inspiration through Zen meditation (mindfulness), I decided to study it.
Calm, a meditation app that even beginners can easily use, has 50 million users. And what a deal, it costs between 1,500 and 10,000 yen per month on a subscriber model! Hollywood stars read poetry and a wealth of content is available.

Mr. Naruse then introduced me to Mr. Zenryu Kawakami, vice abbot of Shunkoin, Myoshinji Temple in Kyoto. Mr. Kawakami has written a book entitled “Zen Classrooms for the World’s Top Elite,” in which he explains meditation in a way that is easy to understand for Westerners and laymen like myself.

I paid my donation via Peatix and attended the Zoom zazen meeting.
First of all, you don’t have to do zazen or anything painful. You can do it in the most relaxed position you can. Meditation time can also be done at your own time. Even an impatient person like me who doesn’t like to be forced by others can do this!
However, “Meditation is not relaxation. It is observation of oneself. Physical sensation.” So I understood it as emptying the head, sharpening the five senses, and formulating ideas.
