Lecture at KIT Toranomon Graduate School (Kanazawa Institute of Technology, Toranomon Campus) : Web3 and Metaverse are not coming…
I gave a lecture at KIT Toranomon Graduate School (Kanazawa Institute of Technology, Toranomon Campus), where I am a visiting professor. I almost never give online lectures, so this is a valuable piece.
Web3 and the Metaverse are not coming! I have discussed the reasons why neither Web3 nor Metaverse are coming, based on experience, history, and the latest technologies, and discussed the possibility of a fully cryptographic digital currency that is not based on the blockchain, which will be necessary in the future. And, in fact, several new technologies are beginning to emerge in the world.
We believe that digital currencies with payment power, anonymity, and security will create the future of the Internet. The rise of virtual currencies and NFTs has been very significant in the history of money. We must strive to move away from the establishment in order to develop the diversity of money.
It is hard to self-deny because it is a field I was passionate about, but an entrepreneur can willingly self-deny.
I think the ability to recognize oneself is more important than the need for approval from others.
