New Area Opening “TeamLab Planets TOKYO DMM”: 13,000 floating orchids
This is the third time I’ve been to TeamLab Planets TOKYO DMM!
Then, after three years in business, I went to see the new area as soon as it opened.
A large garden with 13,000 orchids floating in the air is the centerpiece of the new area.
Thinking back, I’m a bit of an innocent, so 6-7 years ago when projection mapping became popular, I teamed up with plant hunter Kiyoshun Nishibatake to create an exhibition called “The Projection Mapping Projection”. ゙ and the “Ultra Botanical Exposition” at the POLA Museum (2015 and 2016) have focused on the artistic nature of plants. At this time, the exhibition recorded a record number of visitors.
The diversity of plants sticks in people’s minds more than any high technology.
This exhibition was another wonderful opportunity for expression, reminding us how important biodiversity is to the earth.
Everyone should try it because it’s very Instagrammable.
