Private Villa Okinawa Hyakumei (THE VILLA Okinawa) : “DEER HORN SMITH’S” deer antler chandelier in Obihiro, Hokkaido
The resort’s dinner table was made by Meguro furniture craftsman “ams,” who came to Okinawa to make the table.
The chairs are luxurious, all covered in leather, imported from “cattelanitalia” (Cattelan Italy) designed by Paolo Cattelan.
There is a chandelier that I definitely wanted above the table that seats eight people with room to spare. Hidetoshi Morii of DEER HORN SMITH’S, a deer antler chandelier company with a workshop in Obihiro, Hokkaido, made this for me.
The base cowboy furniture was established by Thomas Molesworth, who was active in the 1930s.
The interior style that successful people in the U.S. aspire to is all handmade, with meticulous attention to detail, creating a presence that cannot be imitated elsewhere.
Mr. Morii, who admired the world view of Molesworth, spent about seven years in conception and design, and used natural Ezo deer antlers, which can only be obtained in Hokkaido, to create this luxurious structure.
When the construction of Speedy Resort Okinawa was completed, we declared that we would build it all in Okinawa, and it took us almost three years to build it, but we wanted this wild deer horn chandelier for the dinner lighting. However, instead of using deer horn as it was, we dared to have it finished in white to give it a modern taste.
We hope you enjoy this warm and inviting lighting.
