NON” will appear in NHK E-television’s “Scary Picture Book” and read from the drama!
Popular authors, who are active on the front lines, have teamed up with talented artists to write picture books about spine-chilling and mysterious stories that lurk in our daily lives.
This program is an animated version of a picture book. The reading portion is live-action, set in an old-fashioned inn and a Western-style house that looks like it came out of a painting. The encounter with the picture book is acted out and viewers are transported to a world of terror.
Enjoy a slightly extravagant and scary evening of reading, animation and drama all in one.
Date & Time : Sunday, November 1, 11:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Broadcast (first of three episodes)

I’m going to live at my grandmother’s house. It’s a very old house. …The electric light hangs down from the pole. It’s a little higher than that. …One day I was looking at the darkness over the balcony again. And then… . ..and…
I am going to live at my grandmother’s house for a while. When I look up at the high, dim ceiling, I feel as if someone is there. My grandmother says, “I’m not sure who’s there. If you don’t look up, you won’t be afraid. But the boy can’t help but look up. And who was there?

I was very happy to collaborate with Natsuhiko Kyogoku’s picture book, which I adore. And although we had a great time shooting at the wonderful ryokan on site, I was surprised at how scary the finished video was.
For me, it was an exciting first scary story. I hope you all enjoy it.
The other two stories are below. We hope you enjoy them as well.
Please put me down.
