You may know the word PCR, but you probably don’t know who invented PCR.

Carrie Maris (born in 1944. Unfortunately, she passed away last year at the age of 74) was driving down the road at night in her Civic to drop off her girlfriend one day in 1980. He regretted for the rest of his life that he had sold the rights to the company he worked for (Cetus) at a low price because the discovery of the century was not recognized by the world.

But Maris would win the Nobel Prize in Chemistry ten years later (1993, age 49)!

He was a surfer living in California (La Jolla) and a regular marijuana user who had “women’s problems” all over the place. When you read the stories of his encounters with aliens, calling the Empress of Japan “Sweetie”, fighting poisonous spiders, being in court during the OJ Simpson trial, etc., you will find a man who lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed it. I guess he was.

He also criticized the discoverer, Robert Gallo (National Institutes of Health, USA), who discovered that the HIV virus is not the cause of AIDS, and the discoverer of the ozone hole He also repeatedly challenged Molino scientifically and said there was no evidence for global warming.
