Speedy Gallery : Exhibition Title : on the(inter)net / Artist : Yuriko Iyanaga (2021/11/25-11/27)

We are pleased to announce a three-day solo exhibition by Yuriko Iyanaga, the most highbrow and full of potential artist we have met this year.

After that, we will bring the works to Speedy Gallery in Los Angeles, so you will have three precious days to see them in Japan!

We named it the world’s first “Raspi Art. Raspberry Pi is an electronic circuit board developed in the UK in 2012 for educational purposes.
I believe that millennials like Yuriko Yayoi are painting art on the Internet.

After mastering oil painting at the graduate school of Kyoto City University of Arts, Yanaga expresses the world with a new technique via (inter)net because he does not want to leave real traces of his painting.

Please come to the preview below to see the terrific group of works.

Reception Party: Friday, November 26 from 4-7pm.
Both the artist and Fukuda will be present at the gallery.

Yuriko Yanaga Profile

Born in 1991 in Kanagawa Prefecture.

He completed his Master’s degree in Oil Painting at Kyoto City University of Arts in 2018.
He has been drawing pictures on a PC since he was a child. He pays attention to and expresses the texture that can only be found in digitally drawn pictures. Currently, he is also conscious of the presence of electronic circuit boards and monitors themselves, and is experimenting with expression by combining them with other materials in a collage-like manner.
