Imaizumi Imaemon, Saga and myself.

As a child, he was never angry with his grandmother (Tsuruko Imaizumi) when he broke a teacup or teacup.
Pottery is supposed to break. If it doesn’t break, it won’t sell.
I was born and raised in Osaka, but my legal domicile has long been Honjo-machi, Saga City, Saga Prefecture.
This is because my father did not change his permanent address from Saga. He is still buried there.
I am the granddaughter of Imaizumi Imaemon XII. However, to be precise, I am the grand-grandson of Imaemon’s twelfth brother. The eldest son was supposed to be the successor, but Imaemon XII did not like the idea and passed it on to his younger brother. Therefore, he is a phantom of the 12th generation.
Also, my aunt married into Fukuda from Nabeshima. They have deep ties to Saga.
This time, I stopped in Arita for the first time in a long time.
Yasuhiro Nishiyama of Nishiyama Antiques showed me some Twelfth Generation jars and plates and gave me some of them.
Corona’s influence extends to Arita as well. When food and beverage is in recession, vessels do not sell.
I hope you all will consider it as one of your nest egg consumption and take an interest in Saga’s pottery.
