Times full of rumors about me.

The TV news announcer started talking about me out of the blue: “Tsutomu Morishita-san took the typist out for tea today. I invited him to join us, but he turned me down. The newspapers and weekly magazines started writing rumors about me. Why were the media making such a fuss about me, an ordinary businessman?

This is the synopsis of Yasutaka Tsutsui’s novel “Rumors about Me,” written in 1978.
