Corona Changing Relationships Between Men and Women
“Corona divorce” is becoming a thing.
NHK did a morning program on the theme. Just when I think that COVID-19 is already a general topic for wide shows, this content appears….
Husbands working from home are yelling at their wives and kids saying, “This is my office now, so don’t disturb me!” Wives at home are writing posts to such programs saying things like, “I thought about divorce long before, waiting until my daughter went off to college, but thanks to Corona I was able to make the move.” After seeing these posts, NHK made a program on “How to Prevent Corona Divorce,” which had me chucking at all the points made. This seems to be a problem with mostly married couples in their 40’s and 50’s.
On the other hand, the amount of people getting engaged has also increased dramatically. People in their 20’s and 30’s who live alone are afraid of dying alone due to COVID-19 and want to find someone to be with during this time.
Therefore, when you combine the 2 phenomena, you get people from 20-39 getting married and living together, and if there’s a little flaw, you’ll get divorced in your 40’s. Sounds about right.
Now then, let’s see some data collecting on what to do when you hit your 60’s.
